Talking Whats The Bloody Rats Nest U Blokes Refer To

IS IT THE "THERMAL REACTOR", (EXHAUST MANIFOLD), THAT IS AIR COOLED OR IS IT A BUDLE OF WIRES UNDER THE BONNET OR IS IT SUMTHIN ELSE. JUST WONDERING. It obviously was installed factory with the engine and what are the advantAges and disadvantages of this ugly **** "THERMAL REACTOR". JAYDOVE

I'll try to expand on Carlos's input a little....

The rat's nest is the big mess of vacuum switches and junk on the top of the motor (at least on US models, not sure about you Aussies). Removal of the rat's nest includes removal of the air pump as well.
