Question USDM sa turbo

I saw somebody saying that they had a USDM sa turbo from the factory. I've never heard of this before but then again i'm a FC guy myself. Can someone tell me if this ever occured?

TIA

Nope, there was never a factory turbo SA outside Japan. And these were only made from 82 or 83 as i recall. There where however a number of licensed kits, for instance the Elford turbo. If you have a look at the for sale section, there is actually a original IMSA turbo for sale.

what about the GSL-SE? are we drawing the line between SA and FB? the 1985 GSL-SE had a carbed, 13B turbo.

12at's were fuel injected, and only available in Japan. Even so, Japan never had an FB. Anything outside of North America had a SA VIN number. GSL-SE's had a 13b fuel injected motor. No 1st gen CAME turbo in the US. If you find an original in the US, it's gonna be RHD, and JDM. Imported by someone.

Not exactly correct. There was at least one LHD GSL-SE with 12A Turbo. It is in Germany and was originally built for Felix Wankel.

I was thinking of spraying mine with a blueish color closer to the air box on the stock 12a's.
