what would you pay?

ok no bashing please but what would you pay for this.front
pass. side
drivers side
now the info that i know, its a 1980 rx7, Fresh carb. motor is VERY VERY strong. i dont think its the org. motor. the body kit is a custom made kit with a honda front end. its got drum brakes on the *** the rims are 15" the car is basiclly stock other than the body. the guy wants to sell it but i think hes smoking crack on his idea on the price. so let me know what you would pay 4 it if you were gonna buy it( no this isnt a forsale just a question) im thinking around a grand.

I would think quite a bit more than a grand. If the motor is that strong and the body that nice (as in good shape, not remarking on the style) I personaaly would not pay more than $2000. But there are people out there who will pay up to $4000 for this car, so somewhere in the middle, 3k, would be resonable.

I know nobody here would pay that much for this car. But we are affecianados and care about rear disc, lsd, and 13b's. Those things are what make a 1st gen valuable to us. Most folks just want a good running nice looking car, and that would make this car valuable to them.

Just my $.02

Thats a SWEET lookin car (Im kinda iffy on the paint job tho) But a grand seems like you tryin to lowball the seller... but if he takes it oh well.... I wouldnt have a problem giving the guy 1500 (-/+ 300 for the body work)

i'd agree. if the interior is good and the buttons work i'd say in the neighborhood of 2k. if anything, swap the engine to another car and put a used motor in then sell it to a ricer. he did do a good job of blending the front in though.

I would say around 4k, just because of all the mods done to the car.

1500-1750 Is what Id offer You can always give him a really low price and see where it goes from there...

We are just talking a stock car with some exterior mods right? Personally I dont like the stripes or the front end, but different is cool.

I agree with everyone else...$1000 is way too low. I would pay somewhere between $2000-$3000...depending on the interior and any other mods that you didn't mention...The exterior is in good condition, and if it runs like you say it does, I think it would be a good buy. I say go for it!

Just out of curiosity...Do you mind saying what the seller is asking for it? (Not trying to buy it myself, mind you...Just wondering what you consider to be high as a crack smoker!)

well this car is/was owned by a friend? of mine. He towed it over to my place 6 weeksago and wanted me to slap a nother carb on it. well it needed more TLC than that. i slaped on the carb and still no running worth a dam.so after 3 days of messing with it i got it all done. I told him the list of stuff that needed done and he said sure thing so i went and got the parts (with my $$) and fixed it. airpump, alt, a few minor things ...drained the old gas and put in fresh and replaced the filter and stuff. well now hes bitching about not having $$ and me charging him a per day storage fee. so im gonna get a new title in my name (mechanics title) and sell the bitch, sure what ever i get "extra" ill give to him but that aint gonna be much. i was just wondering what you all would think it was worth.

well the *** owes me 600 $ from this and a set of rims and the "storage fee" is 15$ per day for a covered spot so 600+420so im looking at getting 1100-1200 for it. hell make it 1300 and ill put in a batt. and the missing CRAP (3 wheel studs, bolt up the exh to the cat blah blah blah) in Ga we dont require a title if the car is 10 years? or older i KNOW it wont need 1 cuz we have a 84 that we just fixed and it doesnt need a title. so if your in GA. its that much eazyer just write out a bill of sale, now for out of state people we will have to get a title..still not a big deal

I donno. I understand you selling it cuz you're getting gipped on the deal, but 1,200 seems quite low considering the amount of body work that's been done, despite whether anyone here likes the style. if the guy thinks he can get 4 g's outta it, advertise it in the paper as "1980 Mazda Rx-7 Exterior completely redone in exelent condition, MSTA (must see to appriciate), priced on inspection". Then when ppl come to look at it, start around 4k or 3500 and let them talk ya down if *they* think that's too much. There are lotsa ppl who will over pay for a car if it looks good from the outside, even if it isn't fast (think honda s2000)... Besides that, our cars stock *are* fast to some ppl Just cuz your having problems with the guy doesn't mean you should completely screw him over by selling his car for cheep.
