6 years since last post! My SA has developed a vacuum leak in the past year and I didn't realize it until a friend pointed out the pronounced hissing sound. I thought it was a belt. Will try to pinpoint the source of the leak tomorrow, but the hoses all look very weathered though not cracked. I can't find replacement hoses anywhere. They are molded, thinner than coolant hoses and thicker than fuel lines. I am guessing 1 inch interior diameter. Silicone self fusing tape can patch a crack temporarily, but I need a more reliable fix. Should I look for a straight rubber/silicone hose of the same diameter and just bend them to fit? I usually find the replacement before removing the worn parts. TIA!

Sounds like air hoses for various emissions stuff. Get some hose, put one end in your ear and the other one near each hose junction and see if you can find it that way.

Thank you for your reply! Sorry I have been occupied. Figured all the air hoses should be replaced any way, leaking or not. They all look original and extremely weathered. Can't seem to find molded ones for specific sections. Will have to just take one off and get the ID and length to find compatible/generic ones. I would have liked to find replacement though, before taking anything off, because I often break stuff in the process.
Chasing a vacuum leak myself and made a home made smoke machine to help with the hunt. Google ‘vacuum smoke machine soldering iron $15’ and YouTube vids will pop right up. Does not need engine running to work. Full disclosure... finished the smoke machine last week then promptly caught Covid so have not been able to actually use it yet! Just an idea for those with a possible vacuum leak especially the poster who’s car does not start.
