what lubricant do I use for the gear stick
what lubricant do I use for the gear stick
hey, im still kinda new to working on cars in general and im almost done with my first rebuild, which is a 83 GS, one thing im wondering is what type of lubricant am I supposed to use for the gear shifter on a manual transmission, the tranny is from a 12A 85 GS model, thanks
The shifter doesn't need any lube for normal use
The transmission on the other hand normally
calls for 90wt gear lube in it. A couple of quarts should do it. Synthetic can sometimes cure some
ills as well.

Mike is correct. Just use the gear oil that you are using to fill the transmission. With the shifter removed, fill the shift box at the hold where the shifter mounts to the trans.
