no sir i dont think it is... i had an rb header on my other 1st gen and they have a different base flange + the presilencer is very different. unless this is really old school RB. ?? i dunno. i'm curious as to if this might be a mind train brand.

i'll think about it i do want to sell it, but i have a local friend with a 1st gen n/a and he's got first dibbs. i'm also sandblasting it and coating it so it might go for more than 50 bucks.

Yup. Another advantage of RE header is one size fits all. Just cut the rear flange or the collector to make it:

Fit a 12-A or 13-B
Make it a dual.

Got them in the FB and RX-3.

I have the same exact header on my first gen but no silencer, I cut the middle of the flange to seal better. It must of been warped cuz it kept leaking until I cut it like yours. you should still be able to see the R B cut right in the center of the flange.

It's a Racing Bleat "road race" front section with what appears to be a glasspack welded on to the collector.

The early Racing Beat headers didn't have the "RB" cut into the flange.

its true that the RB road race and the RE headers have many similarities. But based on the engine flanges, I got $$$ on RE.

As I look more closely, it appears that it isn't a Racing Bleat flange as evidenced by the seperation visible between the pipes at the bottom edge. But the pipes themselves look like a copy of Racing Bleat's design.

thanks for confirming it. also, another difference between the RB and RE is the dual outlet flange. They ******* install them backwards so the bolt pattern is different despite the flanges were made by the same guy (whoever that guy was). I didnt know about too until I swap headers from RB to RE years ago.

And sorry too, my old memory is kinda slow in remembering things that I havent touch in years.

here's the pix of RE header in the "3". not a full pix but look at the flange.

That was a good call Wacky. Your "old" memory is still pretty good. I can't beleive I still have that old catalog. I lost a lot of my car stuff when I moved about 10 years ago.

Thats definitely the RE header. I have the exact same one in my car. In fact the RE exhaust has two of the silencers hooked togther to make up most of the pipe from the collector back to the muffler pipe that goes over the rear axle. I was just rehanging my exhaust two days ago so I know exactly what the flange looks like :-)

Looks like it got awfully hot to be all blue. Mines still black and with surface rust poking through.

I have the same header and silencer on my current project. I am in need of the gasket that goes between the header and silencer. Where can I get one? Are these people still in business?

I also have RE's strut bar on the car, very nice unit.

Not in business anymore that I know of. Theres a Rotary Engineering website but I don't think its anythng to do with the old RE. You'll probably have to make one from some gasket material. Should be able to pick sheets or rolls of it at a "real" auto parts, probably not at AutoZone or PepBoys.
