TN What else do I need?

Hey guys and girls. Monday July 20 is the day I plan to make my first big purchase of parts for my car.
Here is a list of things that I am going to order. Please tell me if I should pick up anything else that I might have missed.

- dellorto rebuild kit from cbperformance.com
(2747 Dellorto Master Rebuild Kit - 48mm DHLA Sidedraft)
- holley red fuel pump 12-801-1
(summit racing)
- holley pressure regulator 12-803
(summit racing)
- summit racing pressure gauge SUM-800115
- summit racing fuel pump relays SUM-890023
- summit racing gauge fitting SUM-G1710
- racing beat silicone radiator hose kit
- american eagle aluminum radiator
(AE97-AA American Eagle Aluminum Radiator - 2 Row with 1" Tubes at Andy's Auto Sport)

all fuel lines and fittings I will get from Oreillys or somewhere of the sorts. After these updates I will feel comfortable starting to daily the car. The only thing left to look at is the starter grind which it only does every 2 or 3 starts.

Thanks, Josh

I would advise getting the Dellorto kit from Eurocarb in the uk.
CB performance is very slow and has bad support IMHO. Been there done that.

I don't run my Dell anymore but did for about 20 years. Givin the Nikki some love now.

Ok thanks for the help.

Also should I be using premix with my gas? If so is the brand from oreillys good or should I go and get some actual premix from a power sports shop?

Hey Chris -
I premix with el-cheapo gallon-jugs of 2stroke I get at Wal-Mart. 4 oz per tank, along with my stock
OMP system…
better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the note on the Champion Rads - now looking at their 3-core….

thanks guys. I picked up some lucas 2 cycle oil to try today. the bottle says 50:1 ratio so I am cutting all the measurements in half to get 100:1 which is telling me to use 22 ounces per 16 gallons. I think that is a little rich so I will probably just do the 16 ounces.

Also can someone please show me the relay that I need to swap out to get the signals working. I have searched and searched and been unable to find out which one it is or what it looks like. I know there is a couple on the board and that is why I am asking.

Also if you know of somewhere I can order one and have the link that would be great.
The turn signals are keeping me from driving the car with me being scared of getting pulled over and ticketed for them because that is just my luck...

Thanks,
Josh

I'd strongly advise against the Supertech brand two stroke oil. I don't know of it messing up rotary engines, but I can attest to it killing OB motors... Just pay the extra $8 for Johnson branded oil. Come on what is $8 compared to $300 for new apex seals?

not for nothing, but i thought outboard engines had their own spec of 2-stroke oils.

Well I just won a ebay bid for a flasher board since my flashers and turn signals don't work.

Also on the way home yesterday I noticed that my alternator gauge stopped working and the car has to be revved up to 3000 at start up for the alternator to kick in. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem and I was thinking maybe it was the fuse blown but any ideas would be great help. - found it was a blown fuse

Thanks

Just made my first Racing Beat purchase. Bought the radiator hose kit along with the gaskets needed for the Dellorto carb I am now in the middle of cleaning.

Has anyone bought and installed the 2 row american eagle radiator from Andy's Auto. I was wondering to make sure that it does fit on the 12a before ordering one.

Hey Josh I actually _Phoned_ Andy's Auto re the Champion rad. They were (thank you!) very honest about the fact THAT Rad, spec'd for 79-80 SA, would "require some modification to fit", which is not what I wanted to hear, but at least I didn't order it to find out had they said otherwise…
My point is ask them DIRECT, I think they will tell you plain..

AND
Mazdatrix sells 3 cores too BTW…
