It appears que mine struggle to make my RX to start. The starter motor turns too slowly and my battery is discharged in 3 or 4 attempts at around 12.3 volts. It's impossible to get enough power to start the car then. Yet it's a 70 amp but with 600 A (maybe too low on that). The coils are new. What do you suggest I check or change? Thanks.
1. try to jump it with another car, or
2. take the battery and have it tested, then either charge or replace it, as needed
as far as what battery to get, i could tell you 24F, 26R or type 35 - but i honestly have no idea if those numbers mean anything in France. you're probably better off going to your local auto parts store and asking.
I replaced the starter, which was weak, and the spark plugs and coils are okay. But the car still won't start. I still have to check the ignition (I don't know the exact name: breaker point ignition system?) since the car dates from before 1980 with the original system. Has anyone ever modified it with an electronic ignition? Do I need 2 units since it's a dual ignition? In short, how do you do it?
It might be hard to find and expensive away from the USA. I was thinking of an alternative DIY solution.
I'd especially like to know whether you need two electronic modules or not (one per coil).
Have you replaced your battery cables? The stock ones tend to corrode over time and have trouble passing enough amps to crank the starter very quickly. I replaced mine and the difference was incredible.
You won't find a place where you can just buy a pre-made replacement cable for our cars. So I just bought some bulk copper cable at the car parts store, some battery clamps, some crimp-on copper loops and made my own. It was surprisingly easy. Something like this for the battery clamps:
You can use a larger wire gauge too. I think I went with either 1/0 AWG (8mm diameter) or 2/0 AWG (9mm diameter) - my car is in storage for the winter so I can't check.
Cheers,
Jon

Ok Jon, but I was talking about adding an electronic ignition module to my breaker point system.
I need one module for both coils or one for each coil? By the way I gonna check battery wires. But
I think my battery is not very good.
Here, is what I am talking about. I have used of it to bypass the breaker point on some old 4 cylinders engine, but with only 1 coil. The question is: for a 2 coils rotary engine ignition, I suppose that I need 2 of them..?
