weber ida set-up pics wanted
I'm a visual learner
I just got a 48 IDA and intake and I'd love to see some pics of this set-up before I get into mine. I'd like to run OMP lines (don't wanna premix). I'm also wondering about air filter options: is anyone running a cold air intake into this set-up? Are those filter caps that fit on the stacks any good? I'd like to display the stacks at car shows, is there a way to 'show 'em off' without risking people dropping something down the barrel?

Use the filter shown in the previous pic, the filter socks restrict air flow too much. If your ida has been rotary prepped, it will have barbs for the mop lines, not sure how well the stock lines will fitup.

The float bowl top is thick enough in the area shown to drill and tap 1/8 NPT, and then install a suitable compression fitting (if you use hard plastic tube) or hose barb if you use soft rubber hose, for the oil metering pump to dump into the float bowl.
The top view picture was taken 3 years ago. I have since removed the oil metering pump and run pre-mix only on my race car. Also, the crappy spliced weled strut tower brace has been cut out and a much better strut tower brace out of 1-1/4" round tubing has been welded into my cage.
I don't have any small pictures of my current hand built aluminum air box and filter arrangement; all my pics are too large for this server to accept. The Weber sits so tall that there is a problem getting a decent big air filter arrangement that will flow massive amounts of cold air, but it can be done. Cold air intake is crucial to getting more power.
