water/alcohol injection on a 12a drawthru turbo setup....

water/alcohol injection on a 12a drawthru turbo setup....

I just acquired a 12a drawthru setup. I'm familiar with the rotary engine odviously but turbo's are where I'm not. I've come to understand that I'm going to need some form of water or alchohol injection on this to keep it from detonating in the hotter months. What do you fellas sugect and what am I to do? Now remember, I'm not familiar with this kind of stuff AT ALL! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
And for those of you who want to know the setup I just bought the 85 rx7 thats been on this forum a while now with turbo problems, heres the link.....

Cheapest kit I've found that are still great quality are over at devils own.

Post up your setup and they will help you.

I'd go pre and post turbo. It's a night and day difference.

Well does the injector go before or after the turbo on this draw thru setup? I would think before so it has a chance to cool the turbo right?

either. I'd do it after the turbo so it cools the charged intake since the gasoline is already cooling the turbo.

So the whole reason for doing this isn't to cool the turbo doe to it being "too hot" but to keep the engine itself from getting any hotter due to the turbo? Well that makes sense now!

Actually it does both... And lowers combustion temps and pressures to boot! It's a win-win situation unless your careless and forget to fill tank. I'd suggest some sort of low level light and pressure fail-safe switch.

and related articles. If we could combine the functions of this controller with a MAP proportional flowrate or duty cycle we probably could run EFI closed loop at all times and avoid the typical mixture enrichment used to control detonation.

You know whats cool about those electronic boards on that page is I sauter similar bords where I work. I sauter on lifecor boards actually, and they're boards that go into life saving products that have to be absolutely perfect even up to 40x magnafication! lol I don't know why I told you this but as soon as I saw that little board I thought it was a pretty cool fact That and I don't think I've ever told anybody on this site about me being a sauterer.

OK, another question......... I have a tapped hole pretty close to dead center in the middle of the intake. Would that be ok to put it so close to the engine or would it no work properly being so close to the chambers? You can see the hole I'm talking about on the intake in the pictures of the engine.
