Ticking in dash
I have a "tick, tick, tick, etc." in my dash when idling and running. When I get up to speed, the noise of the car drowns out the ticking, but the noise does increase in pace as I rev the engine or drive. I have no clue what it is. Would the tach create a noise like that? (The only thing I can think of, but I've never heard a tach before.)
Thanks,
-Marty

does your ashtray have both screws in it. when i took my bezzle off for the radio it would wiggle and make a ticking noise. or it may be your tach cable?? does your tach whine?

IDK either about the fuel pump either, but it's worth a look. The tach doesn't exactly whine, but it could be tied to the tach because the ticking is related to engine speed. My questions linger, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the way the car runs, so it probably won't see much attention until it does. I would, however like to solve it. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you checked your fuse box? I had a similar ticking sound while my car was running that turned out to be a loose wire in the fuse box that was causing an arc between the fuse and the contact.
