Wanted: 12A Sidedraft Carb Intake *Don't Move Me Yet*

Please don't move this.. at least for a little while. I need a sidedraft intake for a 12A. I've been looking for a used one for 4 months now. If anyone has one, please PM or Email me.

Thanks,
Matt

I don't have one for sale, but I thought I'd offer you a little advice...

I was able to find a used RB Dellorto Setup back in April. Took me 2 weeks to find one in the right condition and for the right price ($300 in very nice shape with all the right jets, including manifolds, OMP lines, brackets, heatshield, etc.)

During those 2 weeks I found another Dellorto and a Yaw for sale, but neither one was exactly what I was looking for.

Anyways, what I noticed is that not everyone who's selling a carb actually posts in forsale sections. The way I found the carbs I mentioned was to post a "wanted" add on www.mazspeed.com. Immediately people were emailing me.

Other sources are the partstrader website, this forum obviously, and ebay. But for me mazspeed worked out the best.

Good luck!

Ok.. i'll check out that site.. The thing is, I can buy a NEW one through Mazda Racing for $200. I'm looking for a USED one around $100 or so.

Are you sure about that? That just cannot be right... Last I checked the IDA knockoffs from Mazda Comp run around $900, no manifold or anything else. The 45DCOE kits from Mazdatrix, RRR or whatever run $700-800 as far as I know as well.

Remember, it isn't just the carb you need. You also *must* have an upgraded fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure guage. You may also need a bunch of new jets and other components (= $$$) if you buy a used one and it doesn't have the right parts or they are worn out.

Furthermore, don't even think about buying a used carb without thoroughly cleaning and rebuilding it. You must start with a clean slate when it comes to carbs, or else you will never get it tuned properly.

I hate to say it man, but you're dreaming if you think you're gonna get a carb setup for $200. Nothing comes cheap or easy when you get into this stuff. It takes $$, hard work and patience to get these things set up and tuned nice. I'm not trying to insult you, but you'd do better to do your research here.

Also remember if you buy a carb jetted for a 13B, you're gonna have to pay $$ to re-jet it.

Dudes, he doesn't need a carb, he needs just a manifold only! I'm selling my Mikuni carb to him without a manifold.

Ahahhaaha!! He said "intake", but everybody I know means "carb and manifold" when they use that terminology...

A simple misunderstanding.

Alright, forget everything I said, and next time say "intake manifold" damnit!

I really feel for you V8kilr...

I know very well the amount of time/effort it takes to find a nice setup in good shape with the right parts, not to mention getting it all nice and clean and working right. I spent weeks working on, installing and tuning my Dellorto, and I can't imagine how I would feel if I had to let it go after that.

BTW, speaking from the perspective of someone who looked around a little, that is a very nice price on what V8kilr is selling, considering it has the fuel pump, fpr and guage.

this has been the key piece to my rx7 for so many years

hopefully i will get $500.00 or more for it,
its definetly worth it

i always wanted one from racing beat but the price kept me from it since i could spend the same amount and get more parts.

but i will tell you from experience that if you take the same amount this carb setup goes for and try to spend the same amount on any other parts for a stock rx7 you will not get as much hp as with the carb setup

today i went to one out of three of my court dates and the judge looked at all my tickets from just this car alone and he said they added up to around $2,500.oo that i have paid in already
and thats just from one car
he said the best advice he could give me is to destroy the car,

but its not the car,
my last 1st gen costs me $1,785.00 in tickets

but my second gens costs me nothing,
cops dont like 1st gen rx7's
and here in s.c.s. michigan there is a cop on every corner

Do NOT go through Mazdaracing.com for anything.. I can't tell you how many people have been burned by them. It's well documented at mazspeed.com and other places that they are thiefs.. If you got something once from them, you were lucky, but don't do it again.

Good luck on your search

Holy shiest.. I remember when I wrote this 3 years ago..lol.. anyways, what was the reason for it? Btw.. I ended up getting my manifold from Mazdaracing a couple years ago, and had zero problems and fast shipping, not sure why people say they are bad.
