WOW!!!

But ya, sometimes with old cars it's good to every now and again to do a nuts and bolts check. You'd be suprised, or not, what you'll find loose.

Glad you found it, good the vibration is gone... better that you adverted possible personal harm.

like on mythbusters when the drop the drive shaft and make the car fly, that could be bad.

I hope you replaced the missing bolt along with tightening the ones that were still barely there. A missing bolt can cause a vibration as well.

Heh, I get that same feeling I have any new mystery on my FD!
"Man, what is that ________ all about? And how do I fix it?"
Add any oddity in place of the blank, and that's my general first thought.

Off-Topic:
To be funny, I ziptied a bunch of large, heavy washers to the driveshaft in my brother's truck. When he found out, I got a mighty **** whipping. I should learn not to do such things, as he is much bigger than I am.

I should also think before doing such things since he's more mechanically inclined than me. I was kind of put off of the idea of dropping my tranny and such to do my clutch. My brother on the other hand was all for it.

So the next night, me and mike are under my car (the FD) dropping my tranny and replacing my clutch and flywheel. I'd never done one before that, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. It was made especially easy when my uncle told us he had a tranny jack in the corner. Dropping it without one was fun though, that's for sure.
