Unknown trim?

Id really like top know more about this trim especially since it appears to be stock considering the gsl lettering on it
I recently bought an autimatic 85 gsl fb with red interior and leather seats and power windows and all that jazz and I knew those were common on the gsl but something had intrigued me recently... I saw a couple other fbs in my city but I noticed they didnt have chrome paneling line mine does, and I checked online and couldn't find anything online with the same paneling or even replacement parts...

Ah, my son... There was once a mail order catalog called JC Whitney, that If you couldn't get a Playboy, you took it to bed instead. All the kitchy **** you never knew you needed. Highlights were, Horns that play Dixie, A kit to make your air cooled VW look (loosely) like a Rolls Royce, hood ornaments of a jester thumbing a guy, and lots of questionable accessories. Yeah, I never got Hugh's mag as a kid.

I gotta say you had me cracking up lol. So was this trim basically the same thing as the"limited edition spiler" that they just slapped on at dealerships?

The trim was not available at a dealership. This was an aftermarket accessory that people stuck on their car to ruin the paint and stand out in a crowd of bewildered onlookers.

It also may be hiding rust, so removing it may hold surprises under there.

That isn't where these cars rust.

And after hearing Alex's tales of buying things like rust free IH Scouts, I'm convinced nothing rusts in Idaho.
