ok, i feel stupid having to ask, but, how do you remove and replace them?

on an american car, you remove the lil clips with a pair of needlenose beat the old ones out with a hammer and a socket and then, beat in the new ones.

there is a ring lookin thing with lil slots in it where the clips would normally be how do i remove em? do i need to?

S1(79-80) and S2's(81-83) both have replaceable U-joints.

The process is the same as you describe. Remove the clip, and hammer out the old joint. Hammer in new ones, replace the clip.

bent ears on the driveshaft where the ujoints install are the #1 reason for throwing away a driveshaft. be careful.

i just endedup forking out $350 for a new driveshaft with replacable, GREASABLE (zerk fitting) driveshaft that is larger diameter (3" vs 2.5) so it can handle more power fron the J-bridgeport

And instead of balancing the shaft by ADDING weight, they removed weight. real nice unit. Uses Dodge yoke, ujoints, rear flange so it's easy to get parts for too.
