Cool Turbo Specs For 12a???

Hey Guys,

I need some advice on a Turbo selection. Im looking at T4's. Its purpose is NOT for racing. This is for a "daily" car set up. Im taking no more than 10psi boost. The engine is a new 12A "street ported".
NEED to know what are the Specifications (AR, TRIM) I should be looking for?
Thanks
vic

I would assume you want something similar to the stock T2 turbo, heard nothing but good things about these mounted to 12a engines, aside from the lag anyway but a street port should help that somewhat.

Thanks....... Ive been told that before. However, I would like to purchase a new Turbo T4. I would like a medium size turbo.... I heard that if I purchase a big turbo w high Turbine ratio... it could blow my engine.

Are you going efi or carb?

If carb, are you intending to use a Weber carb set-up?

Are you going to use an intercooler?

What are your streetport specs?

What exhaust system do you intend having?

I have a holley 600 and the engine is at stage 1 street port. I do plan to use an intercooler. Exhaust: presilencer, and racing beat muffler.

hmmmm im using a tO4b ptrim with a 1.15 a/r... but mine is heavily ported. that a/r isnt good i guess unless your pushing a good amount of exhaust, but the ptrim helps with spool

I think your best bet would be to use a T-18 (turboII) turbo. The exhaust side is sized well for a streetported 12a and I would also suggest running a pop off valve. You can get a 9PSI pop off valve.

This could be mounted to the carb hat you will be running on the holley.
