BC turbo FB help!!

ok so here is my problem, how should i run the oil drain on my SE front cover, I'm running the stock S4 turbo and oil lines but i don't know how to go about connecting the drain to the front cover. I drilled out the hole in the front cover but I have no idea how to connect the stock line from the turbo. what fittings should I use. dose anyone have any pics of their setups

tap the hole, when you tap it for a NPT you have two options. One would be a -AN fitting to allow you to use stainless braided line. Or you can use a hose barbed fitting. I can get pictures if needed. I went to my local tool warehouse that sells quality stuff over some harbor freight cheapies to buy my tap.

What he said. Mine is tapped for a -10 AN fitting with stainless hose. You want the drain to be short, direct, and big. -10 is about right.

pics would be good, the only thing is I cant get the AN fittings small enough to pass by the coolent lines for the turbo. but I'm trying to use the stock oil lines because braided line is alot of money that I dont have

The stock oil line fits right up to the hole It's just the threads are missing for the two 10mm bolts to hold it there. I believe I drilled one and threaded it to use a short 10mm bolt (not going all the way threw) and the other had to pass all the way threw with a nut on the back side. It's been awhile but I know I made the stock S4 line work on a SE cover.

well my idea was to weld abit longer pipe onto the stock flange of the hard line to the s4 t2 front cover, then from there slot the longer pipe into the hole of the SE cover and JB weld it in the hole. the reason for the longer pipe is so that it sits in the same spot as it would on the t2 cover.

I just thought Id see what you guys think first. but pic would be a big help

I don't get what you're missing man. It's pretty straight forward. You have to tap threads for the hole. Either tap it so the stock banjo fitting will thread in, or tap it for an AN nipple and make an AN line.

ya I understand that but its connecting it from there. like I said. I cant find small enough AN fittings to go between the coolent lines and the hotside. if I go to a barbed fitting I need a way to connect it to the stock line

take a pic of your coolant lines that are causing you trouble. I had no such problems.

can this be done the same on a fb? Im doin a turbo and havnt figured this out yet. Was thinking of drilling into the pan but this seems better

Umm... this is for an FB. And this is better than the pan because you have a thick piece on the front cover, that will tap for a fitting easily; as well as ensuring that your drain is above the oil level in the pan.

To the OP: I would take a pic of mine but all my shiz is aftermarket these days.

well I come up with a idea that ended up working. I took a 2" pieces of pipe that was a bit smaller then the stock oil hard line on the t2 front cover and the hole I drilled into the SE cover. I put JB weld on both end and slotted one end in the cover and one end in the front cover. so now my oil drain system is the same as a stock T2
