turbo exhaust, magnaflow

this its what im thinking for my set up:

stock s5 manifold, RB 3" Down pipe, to Magnaflow 13219 muffler in cat position 3" in and out, then 3" back to a magnaflow 11219 muffler with a dual tip thrown on it.

this is going on a stock port 12a blowthrough

I guess my questions is about the two mufflers, is this a good idea? I figured that with a 3 chamber muffler under the car should quiet it down considerably over a straight through one, what do you guys think? I dont like rediculously loud cars, is this going to be?

pros and cons please

Thanks!

The turbo is going to quiet the exhaust down a bit on it;'s own.... don;t run a chambered muffler.. .you're adding back pressure to your exhaust and that's a no-no with turbos. Run two straight through mufflers, also putting a turn down on the rear exit will help with the noise as well.

ok, that was my biggest concern about the chambered muffler. so with two straight through mufflers, one being the same size and place as the abover chambered one, and with a dump, it shouldnt be stupid loud?

It shouldn't be too loud. I ran two magnaflow mufflers with a 2.5" exhaust on a large street port.

front: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-14416/
rear: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-14862/

the turbo will quiet it up a bit. if you are woried about the sound what about one of these: http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1975-1...nts/16435.html

I've never used one.

we ran that same chambered muffler on the race car, it works, but its not built strong enough. we blew it up several times.

it MIGHT live in the rear, so if you put the straight thru in the front and the chambered in the back, it might be ok

i think im just going to go with two straight through magna flows to a dump or a 2 outlet tip. now i just have to find a shop to weld everything up for me, i can weld, just not stainless i have one more question, what tool do you guys use to oval the bolt holes on the stock s5 manifold and also to port the wastegate. I have no idea what to use. ive tried a hand file, a file for a drill, a diamond bit in a dremel... im running out of ideas.

I use a 3" RB universal presilencer and a Magnaflow in back (with no tip). I love it, the sound level and quality is just about perfect for my taste.

As for the wastegate, what I did is just grind the backing plate and the wastegate arm so it can open further. Didn't actually do any enlarging of the wastegate holes themselves. Seems to be working so far.

For ovaling the exhaust manifold bolt holes, we've always just used a round hand file.

Carbide bur and die grinder for the metal shaping. Need a decent compressor to power it though.

having owned 2 turbo FB's I can speak from experience. Don't run the magnaflow in the cat posisition. even there it is too hot for the magnaflow and the core will crinkle. It won't blow, but it'll hurt flow. Any for $10 more you can get the Racing Beat universal 3" muffler. they are slip fit and are less likely to crush the core from expansion of the core from heat.
