Im wondering on my 85 Gsl-se with the car off I can turn the fan by hand and it does not turn the water pump, but when the car is running and if Rev it up to 3000 the fan is loud and as soon as you let up and it goes back down to idle you can't hear it. I don't ever remember the fan being so loud. I don't know if my clutch fan is going out.

 

being able to turn it by hand is normal. if u try to spin it real quick and it keeps turning, it's bad.
