timing with msd 6

timing with msd 6

woundering how every one set thire timing with msd 6 installed. does mechanical advance still work on leading ingnition?? or only traling. if it's doesn't, means when over 4000rpm traling advanced but leading stay.
vacuum advance is disabled.

doesn't the MSD box get its signals from the stock senders in the distributor ? { I don't know, that's why I ask }

if so, since the senders are mounted on the advance plate both leading and trailing should have the stock advance.

i am still runing in my new engine, so i didn't rev hard. only till 4000rpm
but i feel a bit missing fire between 3500~4000rmp after installed msd...

Make sure you have good power and ground to the MSD, and check all other connections while you are at it.

The timing is still set like a stock ingnition set up. Do a search for paul yaws timing settings and that will tell you exactly how to do it.
