Someone buy this so I can know how to do this same mod to my first gen hood so it opens like the one in the photo.

 

i dont get it does he claim that he has a rx-7 mod so our hoods can open the "stock" way. hahaa what a tard if thats what he is claiming

 

check out the insane extras for free!! ****** retarded, how to double clutch?, re-program your ecu, install neons, and shorten your shifter. those are just some of the awesome extras he's throwing in the for free. i'd buy it just to see his secrets.......

You ever do an engine change and just lay the hood over the opening just as a place to put it for the night since it got too dark to continue working on it, then the next day open the hood like it's hinged from the back?

Yeah. It looks freaky when you do that. There's so much engine setback that an FC or FD looks like a Subaru in comparison.

I *love* 1st-gens. The hoods open the correct way, for one thing, so that if the latch fails, your windshield will not be wearing hood at 50+mph...

I used to have an old Subie, actually, and had the hood pop open on the freeway. Wasn't fun...

That guy is a moron... He's using some "subliminal" sales tactic to try and sell garbage on ebay. Saying things like "...makes you jealous ... get to know ... more and experience it for yourself ... curious and intrigued ... As you remember those feelings..." There's just one problem with all this. Really it only works when someone is talking to you (ie. when you approach someone for a sale, or a chick for a date, or paid TV infomercials, etc) and when you can actually construct decent sentences with proper grammar. Nice try buddy but maybe you can sell some of that useless info that you can get for free off the net to some of your Aussie 'mates'.

That's what happened to me. Checked my oil at the gas station, drove around in the city a while, was hammering it up the highway and as soon as I went past 50mph, WHAP. Fortunately I was still on the on-ramp, instead of merged with traffic (plus it was 2am so no traffic) so I was able to pull it over using just the side windows. Hood was folded over the roof like when Bugs Bunny would hit Elmer Fudd over the head with his shotgun. Punched it back into shape, slamemd the hood like 5 times and checked to make sure it was going to stay latched, drove home.

Next day, car got hoodpins. People always wondered why I put hoodpins on a rusted-out nine year old Subaru, until I pointed out the interesting creases in the hood...

that happened to me in a metro!

went BASH and smashed the windshield into a billion pieces... it sucked.

 

I just stood on my brakes, the weight of the hood slammed it back down. :p I was lucky I didn't fold it over, the hoods on the 1995 Legacy were frickin heavy.

 

Many years ago I had the bonnet on my VW bug open up at about 40 mph, popped open like a parachute. No fun but no damage.
