tach not working?

i have a second gen leading coil installed and has ran fine for 6 months. i was driving to work today and the positive battery cable pulled out of the battery terminal clamp thats on the post. not thinking i just pushed it back in with the car running and tightened it down. nothing popped or anything but now my tach doesnt work. everything else is fine. all wires tight. any suggestions?

The tach gets its signal from the trailing ignition. So check for spark on the trailing plugs, the ignitor could've gone bad.

It's a yellow wire with a green stripe. It should also go to the ignitor mounted on the distributor.

If you look online, they're about $150 average, or you can use GM HEI ignition modules that are $25-50. There's a thread somewhere here on how to wire them up.

Check a local junkyard, see if they have some. Also you can buy from people on the forum, some are sitting on piles of ignitors.

ok guys... finally got my new ignitor installed on the dizzy. still no tach... im stumped. like i said the battery cable pulled out of the clamp when i was driving and i STUPIDLY put it back on with the car running and then the tach stopped working. new trailing ignitor is on there. idk what else it could be? is there a fuse or anything? certain wire i should look for? something in the cluster? any suggestions would be helpful
