Summer setup . . . opinions please
i want to paint my rex this summer, when i do paint it i want to do the engine bay, so this would give me a great chance to take my motor out then do some porting. i have never ported before so is there a chance i can mess anything up? I'm going to go with the largest port i guess a bridgeport .. right? before a PP. i dont care about gas milage because this is just a fun car. i know some places sell templates for porting but i cant find any anymore. i know i should do a search but i want to hear some objective opinions or suggestins on what i should do while the motor is out. oh yea i want to put in all new gaskets... how much do those run and where can i get them? i know i cant afford a complete rebuild kit because of their insane price, anyways i am open to suggestions.
should i maybe do a back plan of a 50 to 75 shot of nitrous? or would too many people hate me for that?
my current mods are in my sig.

You want to do a bridgeport yourself but never had done any porting ever?
Ask yourself this .. would you let your bestfriend tattoo you if hes never done tattooing before.
Stick with a large streetport and practice first on some junk housings.

You might as well go for the brigeport. The worst thing that could happen is you end up having to get another motor. If you think about it thats not that big of a deal, and you'll be gaining experience. I'd say go for the bridge

Based on what Ive heard people say, bridge ports arent as streetable as a big streetport. And seeing as how youve never done any porting, thats what Id do. And besides, you can always go back later on down the line and bridgeport it.

If you don't care about gas AT ALL, then by all means go bridge. But unless it's going to be strictly a race car, gas mileage will definetely be something to consider.
However, there are bridgeports out there running some semblence of decent gas consumption so the choice is up to your. A street port seems much easier to make though. Have fun!
