Subwoofer enclosure interest thread.

As you guys know, I'm building sub enclosures. I've managed to get 2 10 inch subs hidden in the back of the car, AND you can keep your spare!!!

I've been doing a bit of a redesign to make construction a bit easier, make it look a bit cleaner, etc. So far one person has put down a deposit, and I've got a couple more people interested.

Price for the first 10 is $200 + shipping. After that, it's going up to $275, which is still cheap, but I know FB owners are poor, so there you go.

YOU PROVIDE THE SUBS. I am only providing the box. It will have built in speaker terminals, will be completely sealed, and I will wire it for you. All you'll need to do is hook the wires to your subs, and actually mount them. I am also going to be building covers for them so it will blend in with your interior.

I will be posting pics of the redesign later tonight, or maybe tomorrow, depending how much work I get done on it today. Here's a picture of the basic design of version 2.0, but mind you, there are going to be some changes (for the better) on version 3.0.

This is how far they stick out...

I am willing to accept payment plans, so if you want to get in at the initial price of $200, you need to paypal me a $50 non-refundable deposit. Why non-refundable? Because that money is going to buy the material to build your enclosure. I will build your enclosure, you pay me when you've got the money, when your balance is paid in full, I ship you the enclosure. I can't be any nicer than that.

My paypal is boostedfc@hotmail.com for those of you who want to make a deposit. So far, only one person has actually sent money, so there are 9 spots left for the initial $200 price. Just to give you a bit of a comparison, here's what you get on Ebay for $90... A big *** MDF box that would take up your whole hatch:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-DUAL-10-SUBW...QQcmdZViewItem

So for $200, you're getting a custom built box that no one can see. Pretty damn good deal if you ask me.

I am also willing to customize them a bit... Want 8" subs? No sweat. Want square subs? No sweat. Want dual 8s on each side? I'm working on it.

Oh yeah, one other thing. You will pay ACTUAL shipping... I'm not gonna dick you guys over, claim it's $50 to ship when it's really only $30 or whatever... I'm not an ebay *******.

I'd be very interest however I'd have to see the final product... I don't think I've every seen you finish a project so I'm alittle concerned! LOL!

LOL. That's because I have so many brilliant ideas for my FB, I can't start just one at a time.

However, I'm totally serious about doing this, so much so that I just dropped about $600 at Home Depot for it.

hey $100t2 what kind of terminals are you using on the box? the best way is to drill a hold and use a bolt with a washer on the inside and out sidd and 2 nuts on the out side

so it would be bolt, ring terminal with 12g wire or bigger, washer, box, washer, nut, ring terminal with wire, nut

^^^^ that is the best way to do it...if it dose not make sense let me know i will do a pic

I'm going to the store, buying the terminals, drilling a big *** hole, installing them, and sealing them. I'm not doing this on the cheap. I'm trying to give you guys the absolute best product I can.

And, just FYI, guys, the proceeds from this go to build flush mount headlight kits (AND, I've figured out a way to make them completely adjustable. ), front and rear spoilers, etc. I'm hoping to be able to offer you all a bunch of affordable quality pieces for your FBs.

the bolt way is not the cheep way of doing it...its how the best way...the bolts dont leak air or pop out....they always have a good connection un like the 2x2 terminals...you can hook 0 gauge wire to the bolts if you wanted to...its just how the pro's do it...ive been to tranings with kicker, kenwood, earthquake, pioneer, jbl and many more...i am a car audio/video installer i do this as a living..i am just trying to get you a better product

thos terminals you are talking about go bad after a few yrs brake or whatever...and they really dont make a good connection..its also makes that part of your box the weekest point... my friend has a truck built by kicker the install alone was aobut 100k and it has the same type of bolt terminals...they might not cost the most but they preform the best...

Dude....that is a pretty smart idea. I should have thought of that before. That would make the best connection ever. You wouldn't have to worry about a slipping wire either.

I'd like one, but I just bought a full suspension for the SE. I may have to wait for the second batch.

I'm not sure I really need two 10"ers in there, right now I just have one and it's (almost) plenty. Would there be a way to block off one of the openings without making the remaining sub sound like ***?

Either that or I may just go with dual 8's.

Yeah, I can do a single for you. I'm making the compartments separate on version 3.0 because there's a very minimal amount of airspace gain in that tiny section, and it's one less curved piece to make.

Ok, guys, this is the method I will use. All ends will be color coded, red for pos, black for neg.

hmm this could save me allot of effort. A few things.

Can you give me a pic a sketch a good idea of what the finished product is like keeping the plastic trim cover and carpet over hang?

Also I only want one 10 preferably in the middle.

Is this possible?
