Stereo Pics

I don't know if this'll work I tried on another post but I screwed it up some how. Oh well. You'd never get it all in a rex but I thought it looked cool. My kid brother drew it up on windows paint. I thought it was pretty cool especially since paint sucks. Anyway this thing has like 4400 watts bass and like 6g in speakers and tweeters. Messed but cool none the least. I'd never do this but this setup was so crazy I just had to share it!!

You would need the trailer of a semi to get the dynamic range of all those together. But to do that in MS Paint, bravo!

Ya man like I said it took my kid brother along time in ms paint. I was like my ears would start to spurt blood in a fountain type manner. The sound wouldn't be right because of the small space but I thought it was cool and that I should share this ear and brain melting experience with one and all. Muhahaha. Anyway.

I think that you would need a lot more than one amp, and then you would need more than one battery to power those amps. Besides, it would last a total of a day and then would be stolen by some professional theif. It would be cool for that day though!

Why do people always bring up their idea that the 7 is too small for subs, dynamic range etc... Look at all the big bass machines. They are basicly only the front seats if any at all after they put a wall of speakers behind the seats. I'm still not sure how you will fit in 6 tens needing about .5 to .75 cuft per sub. You will not be able to make a wall. You will have to lay them down in the back. Hope you put in tint and a good alarm.

John

The fron subs wouldnt work unless you reall start to angle them. The speakers alone add up to 60'' so right there is pushing too big, plus the little in between. You would also need more amps...

Ya man my kid brother was just playing around in ms paint. Hes good with computers and I couldn't exactly tell him that the sony explode speakers suck. Besides I thought it was cool you could never in reality fit that many 10'' behind the seat. But I am going to be putting 2 20's in I'll be sweet I'll have to build a custom rack though. But it'll work out fine.

I had 2-8" subs in the floor of my 2nd gen and the clutch pedal still went all the way down easily. The floor didn't even stick up any higher than originally. Most cars have a dead space in the foot well that can be cut into and a box fiberglassed into.

I'm going to play thread antichrist here. That proposed system from a sound quality standpoint would absolutely suck. I was an installer for 8 years and won IASCA and USAC finals several times. You won't see anything like that anywhere near a car designed to sound good. First of all there are 6X9's, and 4 of them at that! That is 4 too many. Stick to round speakers. If they aren't round they had better be horn loaded compression drivers, planar ribbons, or electrostatics. Next, subs in the front and back of the vehicle. This will only work if the front or the back is working but not both at the same time. Standing waves will cause cancellations and a very irregular frequency response in many locations. The result will be a system that isn't as loud. 3 speakers up front? Only if there is a surround processor. "Bridged mono" center speakers do not sound accurate and only add up to more noise. I don't see any issues with putting in 6 or even 8-10" subs in the vack of a 1st gen. They will take up so much space though that they car will be very heavy. To who ever said it can't be done, I have seen a 1st gen with a sub wall in it. It can be done. Please don't tell me that the big bass machines have dynamic range. They don't! Dynamic range is so much more than the ability to get loud. Dynamic range is the difference in SPL between the quietest passage of music and the loudest passage of music that is produced faithfully without an adjustment in volume. Listen to a Bose system sometime and them go listen to a high end system and you;ll see what I mean. The Bose system will play it. The high end system will play it properly.

If you want a system that sounds incredible, it isn't hard to do or terribly expensive. Use as few speakers as you can get away with. Fewer is better in audio from a sound quality standpoint. 2 mids and highs up front is all you need. Now just pick a good sub. Box design is crucial too. Ported boxes are louded than sealed boxes and do not sound bad when designed properly. If you want big bass then use a big speaker or a couple of smaller speakers. 20" subs heh? Um, no. Audiobahn makes a 32" sub for about $800 or so but it doesn't sound that good. Bigger isn't always better in audio especially with today's woofer technology. Just get a decent product and load it up with power.

Sorry to threadjack but I did it for way to long to see bad system designs surface without my criticism.

BTW: Sony sucks! All of it!

Listen I know exactly where your coming from and I would never put the system that my brother drew in. I thought it was cool looking..it would never work but I thought I'd share it with you guys. John 64 he was simply using the ms paint it comes with every windows. It takes along time to do anything but it does look good when it comes out. RotaryGod not to diss you or anything but your not the only one who knows their sound equipment I'm not a newb to the speaker positioning needed or the speakers how ever many or few to get a good dynamic range. So dont make the mistake of thinking I don't know my equipment because I do.
