Steering column
Ok guys brand new front end new gear box still have play in the steering wheel possibly looking to find a new column its an 85 and im not sure where to find parts can anyone help
I'd be surprised if new pieces are available, if that is the question? Pull up a PN and ask your Dealer. You have a NEW gearbox? Won't find anything "tighter" than that....
These are adjustable, in that there is a screw/nut that can be adjusted externally to put drag on the underlying ***'y. BUT if you over-do it this will shorten the life of the pieces and you will be back where you started. These boxes, as you are discovering, have a fair bit of center-play by design...

I have had this issue as well for a while. I put a set of new control arms on my car being as the ball joints/rubber were shot in mine. I also did a steering box brace reinforcement. I checked my pitman arm and it is practically brand new. I wish someone would offer a aftermarket solution for a improve steering feel on these cars.
