Stage 1 Clutch or Stock Clutch?

Okay, I need some help from the experts here.
I am knees deep in a rebuild, and trying to see if I can get Stage 1 clutch. The one I'm looking at is the Exedy Stage 1 clutch from 83-91. However, my car is an 82.
Is there any known reason why this clutch wouldn't fit? Different bolt pattern on the flywheel? I want to save myself before I buy a nice clutch paperweight.

Any help/advice is appreciated!

The 1983-1991 are a 225mm flywheel and the 1971-1982 are 215mm. The only way you can use the 225mm clutch is to get a 225 (1983-1991) lightweight flywheel to maintain rotating balance.

Here is an Exedy that will fit.

Ahh, thanks. I wondered if there was some change made to the flywheel in those years. Thanks for the help!

I have a stock parts store clutch in the bridge port car. It doesn't slip and it doesn't break clutch forks or pivot *****, and the pedal throw is nice. A lot of "uprated" clutches require you to practically dent the firewall with your leg to get disengagement, and stiff pressure plates break pivot ***** and crack forks.
