Daikin / Exedy makes good products, they supply clutches for many manufacturers. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the OEM Mazda clutch is made by Exedy. If you race much, a lightweight flywheel might be a nice addition while you've got the drivetrain opened up. It will make the car less streetable however. Research the flywheel before you buy.

I would assume the Exedy to be similar to the stock clutch as far as holding power. I wouldn't get it if you need a heavy-duty clutch.
But, it should be a good clutch setup.

I looked on their website...and it says this clutch is a OEM replacement. So....its bascially the same as Mazdas.

The stock clutch is actually pretty decent. Hard to say how much power it can hold - probably some basic mods, that's about it. I think if you're getting into the 300hp range you're probably past it's potential.
But, a buddy of mine used to run a stock clutch disc with Mazdacomp's upgraded pressure plate. He was making somewhere north of 350hp and it held no sweat. Mind, he was an autocrosser/road racer, so he didn't do any drag racing on it.
