Smoke

I have an 80 Rx7, and if I rev it to 6000 or above, when i shift there is a cloud of thick blue smoke. Obviously oil. Now I know that the fa's smoke a little more, and the oil injectors are pumping at max pressure. But it doesnt seem to be normal.

Now what could be causing this, and will I need a new 12a?

Thanks ahead of time!

the engine's just getting tired... it always starts in the high range, 'cause that's when the oil pressure is highest. Don't worry about it for now, unless the smoke bothers you.

Carbon seals? Hope you aren't driving it on the street. They won't last for **** and the motor won't run right unless you drive at like 6,000 or above rpms at all times. Carbon seals are made for constant high RPM use. It may also be a pain in the *** to start.

Yeah, I am very well aware of this. Which is why I was thinking of making a race car. I will be bringing it up to St. Cloud, MN multiple times over the summer for drift competition, along with my friend in him 85 Corolla GT-S.

Sounds like your side (oil) seal is getting blow by (not sealing at high pressure). So your rotor (or rotors) are getting more oil then they should.

IMO: I'd wait to throw the extra parts on the car until the new engine was in..
