small DLIDFIS write up...
well here are some pictures of my install. the first photo shows my mount on the shock tower. the second is the picture of the leading j109 ignitor spot on the side of the dizzy but modified so it will fit the GM ignition modules. The third picture is the two accel coils (yes there is two one on top of the other) that are ran off of the GM ignitors.
So what I did:
I pretty much followed Jeff's how-to so much thanks!
However I modified some male connectors by filing them down so they fit snug in the original ignitor mount.
I ran 14 guage wire from there to the corresponding side of the GM ignition control modules.
From the modules I ran them to the coils. Using 10 gauge wire. I used the stock and jumped it between the two leading coils, I checked the wiring diagram and it comes straight from the ignition switch.
Anyway from going from not started, being really flooded, to now started with no hick-ups I'm quite pleased.

I'm glad you were able to get it all working. I still have not actually hooked up DLIDFIS in a 1st gen, but now that I have access to two, I will eventually.
That part about filing down two male quick disconnects is correct. You file them down until they're a snug fit in the plastic connector in the dizzy. Then I like to bend them up and join with the rest of the harness. In all they years I've done it this way, they always stay in. Good job on yours. We need bigger, brighter pictures.

Jeff yes that worked quite well I did exactly that with the male connectors. Good idea!
