Side Exhaust??
So I've always haten Vette's with a passion but I always admired the side mounted exhaust also. I think I might see if I can fab this for my 7. Any ideas or comments?

All I can say is 2 things, it will be very loud because there isn't enough pipe length to add a pre-silencer and muffler, and forget about having any clearence, even for speed bumps. When I made my 3" exhaust, I had some pipe left over and made a side pipe for the hell of it. Comes off the header and angles back to the rear tire. At idle, in the shop, I need to wear ear plugs, not kidding a bit about this. I think I can fit 3 fingers between the bottom of the pipe and the shop floor.
One would need to use shorty headers and make a sharp turn outward, then an upturn and back to follow the rocker. The rest would need to be a long vette style muffler down the side of the rocker to have any hopes of bringing the noise level down and I doubt it would be very successful. Give it a try and good luck. Have some cash set aside for noise tickets.

You need oval tubing for better ground clearance:

You could also get better muffling in there witha properly designed system. Just get creative:

I was thinking about doing the same thing, mostly inspired by the dodge viper side exhaust, but there would be some major fabrication to make it look decent, not just have it hanging below the car.

love the braaaap
Thats going to depend on what muffler you use. The sound outside the car probably won't be too bad, but inside it will most likely be unbearable because of the sound waves bouncing off the road and back up into the cabin.
