We have a bunch of pictures in photo albums.
I remember after the 1996 race, we were leaving, and while walking through the food court, my dad grabbed a table sign for the Grand Prix Du Mardi Gras. I said, "What do you want that for?" He said, "You never know, this might not be bck next year." Sure enough, the race has never returned...
Man, I wish I would have been older to remember it better. I barely remeber a lot of it, but one of the things I remember most was looking out of the side of the parking garage at night and watching a pair of race prepped third gens (team cars) coming down a straight with their brake rotors glowing red, braking for the next turn. You see, I've been a rotorhead my whole life.
Man... Fond memories...

Already got my reservations, got an Ex that I'm still real good friends with up in Thousand Oaks, where I stayed last time, I get free room and board, and get to use her car

!! Something I haven't thought of! Are our cars stuck in the area all day, weekend, whatever? If so, can I go hang out with some of y'alls? (Even thought that was the plan anyway)
I didn't think about that :P I love rotaries, but all day in one place is sort of iffy to the jay.
Peace

Hopefully Pomona, Fontana or Barona strips would be open that day.
