I don't know the details but I think Mazda won't be supporting it anymore. Remember this is a free event. Nobody is making any money here.

Oh yeah, count me in.

Mazda won't support it? That makes even LESS sense. They're gonna turn away 4000+, income earning, Mazda-buying, enthusiasts. Like I said, it just doesn't make sense.

Socal? That's only a state away from me! I am still worried about the Rex not making it all the way, as I won't have the cash for a rebuild by then (it's odometer reads 198,000 MILES!). Do you think a Rex with that many miles and a 'new' rebuilt carb can make it that far? I'll have about $2300 to put into her by then, but about $300 if not more will definately be going to this trip!
If y'alls think this motor can make it, I'll be there for sure. Hell, maybe I'll sell my toes or something for enough money to get her running strong for this trip!

just rod out the radiator, get the oil cooler ultrasonically cleaned, make sure belts, hoses, water pump, filters are up to the task. bring a couple gallons of purified water.

OKay, even if I have to get some help from people I know the whole way to Cali, I'M GOING! Hellzah.
Since there hasn't been anything official that I can see, I think I can set up the cvan to Cali from the Southwest Sector.
If you're from west Texas, New Mexico, or the surrounding states, post here. We'll figure something out. I live right off of I-10, so I figure I have the prime position for this.
Peace for now!

That would be 2 states away from you my friend - don't forget AZ

You'll make it. I've done that trip in my 7. Of course it only had 125,000 at the time, but it made it with no problem, A/C running a lot of the time, made it from the middle of New Mexico to LA in 12 hours, with an average speed of hmm, 90 mph? and it was totally stock at the time.

Oh so if you were in AZ how would you describe CA as far as how many states away?
