Hey Carl.

Don't feel like trailering the blue bridgeport to SS7 this year. A fair amount of effort just to park her although lots of folks do enjoy checking it out.

Kinda burned out on that car. A few weeks ago trans jammed in 3rd gear while downshifting for the sweeper @ Buttonwillow, and the driveline is vibrating real bad so I need to nut and bolt it, then add more pinion angle, take it to the drag strip and try it. Drag strip is much closer and cheaper than towing 3 hours and hoteling a weekend.

...... and the REPU is almost 100% restored....very cherry. new pics this week.

If I was in AZ, Cali would be 'the next state over.' Redundant as hell, I know
Turns out that my town is one of the night stops for the I-10 route, according to the guys on the forum for this event
And, I won't be able to get a paint job before the event, unfortunately. My bugly tan-primer car won't bring you guys down, will it? I figure I'll represent the 'normal' RX-7 this year, and next year (I'm confident it will be there again!) I'll have it up just as good as most of the rest!
Go me!

jays83gsl.. this IS the LAST seven stock on the west coast. no more. at least under that name. but i'm sure the SoCal RX club will hold events in the future. last year was great !! and to whoever goes this year do yourself a favor and bring a camera or video camera.
and bring a lunch, something to drink even if you don't have, or can't bring anything RX. I wish i had met more forum members last year. need something to ID each other and place it on the car(s)........ maybe

Pity to that. Even if we have to pay the SoCal club, I wouldn't mind that!
Yes, an 'ID' of sorts would be great! As for our cars, we can simply write something on the windows or something?
You'll be able to tell mine apart, it's tan-primer (O_o?) with the black paint fading off the chrome. Also, the passenger side fender will most likely be a different color. Hell, since it PROBABLY won't be painted yet, I may just write "rx7club.com - jays83gsl"
on the side
Of course, if it IS painted. . . .
but, that's a story for a different time.
Anyone else in the first gen board taking the I-10 route? See you for the dinner in EP if you are
Peace for now,
JJ

BTW, what's this about whiney 8rs? I see em all the time. The RX 8 seems to, unfortunately, attract that type

Don't worry, I do a real good job of keeping things hyped up!
It's all about knowing when to say what, and where to stick your exclamation points
Smileys help too.

Maybe. Of course I said that about last year's SevenStock. I'd like to get my 20B car done by then. Maybe I'd better get out there and work on it instead of post whoreing all afternoon.

hows this carl ?.. on the outside, passanger side windshield use a grease pensil, small but large enough to read " rx7 club " then screen name. i say small because who knows if the SoCal rx club would through a fit or what not. i wouldn't think so, but one never knows.

To all who attend with a car,,,,get there early !! to get in the main lot. last year before the gates opened, across the street there were rx type cars as far as you could see.. it was foggy.. lol

Sounds like a dandy idea, Mark! Um, where do you buy a grease pen?
So, are we gonna use that?

NO RAINBOW STICKER PLEASE!!

I dont know if I will bring the FB or RX-3...It was not a fun drive last year with the RX-3...imagine no radio. loud exhaust and 1 hr of stop & go traffic.

And Yes, we're planning to be there early.

They wont mind if you mark your car. But also you need to mark yourself somehow. I know alot of your cars by sight (thats how I found Mel and Brad) but I dont know who YOU are and no one stays by their cars all day. I missed Bern, rotor13B, and racerx7fb among others cause I dont know what they look like. John (rhino61) and I met cause we traded cell numbers and were able to find each other.

Jay, at the banquet, they had one of the designers of the 8 there as a guest speaker. During the Q&A the 8 owners started bitching and asking why they werent getting the published hp numbers. It was pretty tacky if you ask me. First off the guy was a designer, not a powerplant engineer. Second, this is supposed to be a gathering of rotorheads (like a love fest) and these guys embarrased ME at least by being whiney babies in front of the Mazda representatives. I might skip the banquet this year and hang at the bar if anyones interested. Depends on whos speaking and all.

Yea what a sight that morning! Rotary powered cars as far as the eye could see in every direction! Even after the lots were full, there were still cars lined up parked for miles it seemed.
