?s about oil cooler lines and fittings
Ok, so I have a hole in my oil cooler line that goes from the oil cooler to the engine block on the drivers’ side. The longer hose. It has a hole about the size of a BB, under pressure I can’t add oil fast enough.
I have been looking at Racing Beat’s stainless steel lines. I really only need one but I will replace them both at the same time. Hell maybe I go with the Mazda stock ones, still need to price check those though.
Either way do I need the fittings that they are talking about or could I reuse my old ones? Or is it a good idea to replace everything in that area? I have heard of the fittings causing leaking issues too. Just looking for opinions.
I am hoping to get this thing up and going by Sunday so I need to order parts today.
Thanks
Joe

the cheapest way to fix the lines are to go to a hydraulic shop and buy some new hose. I went to my local shop and got 5 feet of line for 15 bucks.. it was very snug on the current fittings, but i used a clamp just in case. been working great for over a year now..

Ive been making my own oil cooler hoses for years.Just cut the factory metal crimps, buy $5 worth of 300psi,500*degree 1/2" I.D. hose from a bearing/hydro shop, and buy $5 worth of hose clamps.Route the vastly more flexible rubber hose however you want, and double clamp each end.
Not as pretty as the SS RB hoses, but they can be made to any length, wont rub through everything they touch, and they are very inexpensive.
