totally great cars.

i guess i'll lay out some ground rules hehe...

the temp gauge has 3 positions
- cold: shift at 3k or lower
- normal: shift at 6500 and kiss your gas moneys goodbye
- toast: turn your engine off now

change oil regularly, make sure your fluids are good every time you fill up the gas tank. the fuel filter is your arch nemesis.

the engine is said to be able handle redline runs every day just fine - but i always like to give myself a bit of a margin for error up top.

6500 shifts are plenty fast to keep the carbon buildup down.

my 13b has 215k mi on it and the previous owner tells me he didn't exactly baby it.

ont rev it hard when cold. the redline is there for a reason. it is all in personal reason. run it how you want. just maintain it and keep it clean and your car will love you

I'm sorry if i sound stupid by saying this but you do you mean the temp Guage has 3 things? mine just looks like it tells the temp of the engine. And Shift at 3k? I presume you mean revs? what should i shift gears at??
*panics*!!

i like to stay below 3k rpm until the engine reaches normal operating temp.

as for the gauge - yeah it measures your coolant temp. but keep an eye on it. one overheat can kill the engine right quick. if it hits 2/3 toward H, stop the engine asap. don't worry too much tho, as long as the cooling system is in good shape, they're plenty for a stock motor.
