Rev limiter ?
The only way to get a rev limiter is to run one limiter on the leading and one on the trailing. If the buzzer isnt enough, then maybe you should get your hearing checked. That thing is loud and you aren't making more power past it on a stockport.

^ Yep and at over $250 a piece, no thanks.
With that said, i have a 6AL on the leading that i got at a good price. I'm thinking of removing the trailing since, in theory, it really isnt needed and having a functional rev limiter.

I was thinking something along the same lines. Since the trailing isnt really critical, I figured that if I ever get an MSD with a rev limiter,
Id probably buy an rpm switch and wire it up to cut power to the trailing coil around 6-7000 rpm. This IMO would be a cheaper way to have a rev limiter, while still retaining trailing most of the time.
Is it possible to get a rotary (nothing to do with rotary engines) cutoff for the distributor? I know a friend who fitted one to his Golf 1 GTI, when the distributor gets to a certain rpm the centripetal force lifts the points and cuts off the spark.
my question is: why would you want one? As stated before, the buzzer on my 84 SE sounds at 6500 I then shift 2 seconds after it 7600. If you need, you can hook up a shift light with the buzzer. I mean if you dont know your car well enough to feel when the pull is getting weaker or the sound of the engine, you should sell your car..
No need for the hostility and i have no buzzer it was removed or broken before i got the car and my stupid rmp gauge starts jumping after i pass 4 grand and I have no idea why it does and as far as going of of sound i do my best but its stupid loud bcuz of exhauts leaks. rb exhuast should be coming in soon.
but thanks for the feed back.

i apologize if I came off the wrong way. I didn't know about the issues. But it would be easier to fix the tach as stated by someone above then install 2 exact systems of a rev limiter unless you want to upgrade your system to MSD.
I had a weird cluster in my 79, when it got cooler outside and the car started cold, the coolant gauge would just keep climbing all the way to hot. Scared the bejeezus out of me, and the tach would just bounce around the 4krpm mark, and occasionally work when I floored it. I fixed it by installing a new gauge cluster, so that cured the tach and coolant.

Would this work?
A thought from a rotary neophite...
Just wondering if this would work:

I realize it's a little pricey, especially if you have to buy two, but you get a rev limiter and CD ignition. BTW, I'm pretty sure summit just stuck their name on the Mallory MAA-6853M
Thanks,
James

rotaries don't need a rev limiter? ever seen chatter marks on a rotorhousing or a collapsed apex seal spring?
well my repu + aluminum flywheel + 4.625 gears = revs up very quick and yeah, good ideaer
