Rear rotors stuck on :(

Rear rotors stuck on :(

Took the screws out, took the wheel studs out (jic) but yet the rear rotors still wont budge, any ideas on how to get them off?

i used a sledge. but i was replacing the rotors. if youre just having them turned or plan on reusing them a rubber mallet may be a better idea

Heat is your friend. They have probably rusted themselves to the axle. Take a
good plumbers torch and start heating it up all around the hat of the rotor and
between the stud holes. Eventually you will hear a loud ping or two. Thats your cue
to smack em with your rubber or dead blow hammer and they should pop off.
Does hurt to soak them with a penetraing oil either.

if its a 12A car, there is a threaded hole in the rotor, and you put a bolt in there (its 8x1.0? same as the front cover/water pump) and it'll pop right off.

If the rotor is rusted onto the axle, heat it with a propane torch then hit it hard with a steel hammer. The shock will pop it loose.

Got the rotors off however looks like NAPA f'ed up and managed to get the wheel bearings to far outward so it did me no good in the end

yep. while i was down there i replaced the philips screws with allen head screws. if you plan on changing them again this may be something to consider. philips strip wayyy to easily
