Re-Installation of rotor.....

Hey, got a quick question...

I don't have my car here at the moment, as it's at my friend's house getting re-assembled after a clean-up (all of the seals were stuck completely down from being entwined with the chunk of rag I forgot in the exhaust ports which got sucked in and ripped into microscopic pieces, and I had to soak the rear rotor in solvent all night), but I didn't pay attention to which way the rotor was on the e-shaft... Is there only one way it'll go on, or do I have to try to figure out which way to put it on? It may be a stupid question, but I can't look at the e-shaft and the rotor at the moment, and I don't want to go over there tomorrow and have a dilemma, so can someone please answer my question quickly tonight?

Thanks in advance...

Jeff

Well, the side gear always goes towards the stationary gear, hard to miss that

ok, but I didn't uninstall the front rotor... I only needed to pop the back off to clean out the rear rotor, as the front had good compression... ugh. I also need a new throwout bearing... now is there an easy way to pull out the old one? Mine seems to be pressed in... I guess I'll check my Haynes manual on the way out to buy the new one...

Um, throwout bearings slide off the input shaft. Pilot bearings are pressed in.

And you really should pull the center plate and front rotor housing off and reseal them, taking the tension bolts out can cause the o-rings to lose their seal. Also port it while you have it apart. You'll thank yourself later

Yeah, I need to get the pilot bearing out, that's it.

I don't have cash... That's a problem... Stundent earnings = $0 I'm just trying to get this thing chugging along at least for another 50,000 miles.... Hopefully...

Take the engine the rest of the way apart and replace ALL of the coolant/oil O-rings that seal the housings to each other. By releasing the tension bolts and tightening them down again, you're really asking for a leak.
