That is an amazing piece of equipment! Can't wait till next year when I can dump the cat, air pump etc. and put the RB header on. I'm really excited about being able to run a double pulley so I never hear the belt squeal.

So the only thing that is SS on the RBSP exhaust is the muffler section? The rest are steel?

RB exhaust header is chrome plated thick wall steel to minimize tinny sound.

Yes! Cant wait to hear the sound! Good choice on the carb hat also, although on very hot and humid days I find the heatsoak is very predominant. I usually switch back to the stock one during those days but believe me on those cooler days/nights you will definitely notice a difference.

I'll be curious to hear the sound as well. I ordered the normal power pulse (ie. single pipe) a few months ago and it should be arriving soon, hopefully...

tg, the modern center section really is lighter than the old heavy version you have. I've had both and the difference can be felt while carrying them. The reason for the later version being lighter is due to the thin end caps compared with the 3/8" steel end caps of the old one. I'm not sure if the packing is any different or if the 4" round shell is different. Is it stainless? Maybe I'll see if a magnet can stick to the modern one.

One bit of anecdotal evidence about the new ones possessing different packing material, is that when I first fired up mine, it had little sparklies floating around in sunlight. That means fiberglass!! I know the old version had what looked like giant industrial sized pot scrubbers, because I had to do a repair job on an old one once, and tried to emulate it on some home-brew presilencers using regular pot scrubbers around the perforated core with an outer wrap of stainless steel wool. The result is a hybrid presilencer and muffler all in one.

Oh, to prevent this from going off topic too badly, the brand new exhaust up there is like rotary ****, or RB **** at least. I wouldn't mind seeing that laying on a rug in the living room.

Disappointing that the header is not SS, I was excited for that since I live at the beach and everything rusts just by existing. Has anyone had success with having it ceramic coated, or will the rotary just burn it off?

Mine got neon-hot when I first put my Holley on but the chrome hasn't flaked or chipped off. It's a little duller than new, like ceramic, but still looks good.

*Old Holley was jetted too lean and had major vac leaks.

EGT on the engine will be from 700-950c continuous, and maybe 1000-1050c peak. there are coatings that will do that

Thanks, I'll definitely do that, I hate anything rusted, especially since I've done so much de-rusting things like the tank, suspension etc.
