I've looked everywhere in this city. Absolutly noone has been able to help me and I'm really iching to ditch the nest. The parts I need are:

5 Feet of 5/32” vacuum hose
2 Feet of 5/32” fuel/emissions hose
18 Inches of 5/16” vacuum hose
6 5/32” vacuum line plugs
1 1/2” vacuum line plug
1 9/16” vacuum line plug
1 5/16” T-fitting
2 3/16” T-fitting

If anyone has any extra stuff lying around or can direct me to a website or specific London area store that definitly has this stuff I would really appreciate it. Places I've been to are Canadian Tire, Partsource, NAPA, Princess Auto, Home Depot, Hose Headquarters and I've called Jim's Speed Equipment. All no dice. Thanks guys

 

It all depends what you want to keep and ditch. You could technically just need vacuum caps and that would be all. I only needed 2 ft. vac hose for the dizzy a T fitting that fit that hose (I forget the size), and a line for fuel tank vent. Depending on how you want to solve the crankcase ventilation issue, you may need more.

I found a source for vacumm hose here in london for you. Carquest on Horton Street, they sell it by the feet. Jims Speed on Wellington Road sells the Vacuum plug (Assortment pack), the T fitting, you can get from part source or Princess Auto or the likes. Don't ask them for vacumm T Fitting, just look for a water hose, or air hose fittings. Its either a brass or plastic ones. Also for vacumm, princess auto sells clear fuel rated hose that would work for that in various sizes.

Now I am having the same issue. I am removing the rats nest using the mazspeed.com 12a pdf guide.

I have been to every parts store in town. One guy even told me they don'
t make fuel emissions hoses that small. I had to keep calm and just told him yea dude I have seen pics it exists.

I found plenty of 5/32 vac hose but not the Fuel Emission hose or 5/16 vac hose.

 

The vacuum hose can be found at most parts stores advertised as "Windshield washer fluid hose"

If it's transparent don't use it, but up here in Canada, the local Canadian Tire store carries black rubber hose that looks and feels exactly like vacuum hose in many sizes for washer fluid hose replacment.

The T-valve is the part I've never been able to find to buy, I just use the ones I get from stripping the rat's nest and carb.

I found that size. I found a box of T's and a cap assortment. Just that fuel line.

Just found Mazdatrix has color hoses for both sizes of vac hoses so i'll grab some of that.

It's just that pesky fuel emissions hose. I don't think it's safe to use vac hose or silicon hose right? Because of the crankcase vapors. I guess that's the Vac advance for the dizzy right?

Well I found the Goodyear part numbers so should be to find it now and make that pimple faced kit at the parts counter eat crow.

Edit Add: BTW Am I missing another guide to removal of rats nest? I searched around.

Also should all those hoses be metric sizes? Or are they just using Imperial because that's what the auto shops have here in U.S.??

 

There's one in the archive about using a PCV valve... my preferred setup.

A search for PCV in just the 1st gen and archive sections should bring it up. Easier IMHO than the other one.

Wow I just read those threads and my head is spinning. Ok Fram FV333 PCV valve. Did you use regular vac hoses of fuel emissions hose?

So many valves and hoses. I feel like Spock after a heavy duty Vulcan Mind meld.

The AAV1 Valve stays operational right? And AAV2 goes? Also some other thing they are calling a "whuchamacallit" in the tutorial. Argh.. Is that a secondary valve and does it need to be removed? If so fabricate a plate or order.

I run the PVC valve and it works great, I just use plan old 5/16 fuel line hose.

I think I made a thread about it, let me look.

The the OP if you want I can collect all the parts and mail them to you if that is needed, or maybe DD already offered.

 

Sorry guys, I guess I should have updated this back in the summer. I'm not really much for following through. A friend of mine, Sam (dj55b) directed me to Carquest, and they were able to get what I needed. Got it all done back in mid summer. They are now my one stop shop for all the miscellaneous automotive crap I need. Gets expensive though, since every time I'm there I find new stuff to buy that I wasn't planning to get. So Carquest had 5/32 Fuel Emissions line? Or did you use something else?

I am thinking they just used 5/32 silicon and mis labeled it Fuel line in the tutorial? Halp...

But they say do not use for fuel venting if it's silicon. It has to be "J30" rated for the juice to
be really called Fuel Emissions line.

It was either vacuum hose or fuel hose. I honestly can't remember off the top of my head. And yeah, I was wondering why one of my old threads was back at the top.

 

It is called just Vaccum Hose, if you say the wrong term to some places they won't know what you're talking about because they usually just idiots behind the counted that only know whats in the catalog. Vaccum hose is meant to handle fuel related stuff for most cases if you buy it from an automotive shop. You can get them in clear in some place but usually are more expensive.

You can however get fuel hoses that small if you wish, the easier places to find them is places that carry like gasoline lawn/yard equipment. Like a speciatly store where they also sell replacement parts. Or you can also look into Snowmobile,motorcycle shops as they can use smaller hoses then cars. You must think outside the box my son

 

Because I needed help on the same exact thing. Creating a new thread would just make search more cluttered.
