you don't need to do anything with the oil filler hose. you can run it to the top of the air filter, but i just left it open. only thing is when you put oil in you gotta hold your finger over the hole so oil don't go out of it.

If I remeber correctly, you need this part to vent your crank case to avoid the "lung musterd" and rust in the oil tube, following the rat's nest removal tutorial, I think you need to T the bigger hose at the bottom of the purge valve and one end goes to the oil tube nippo and the other one goes to the fuel bowl vent. The smaller nippo on the bottom of the purge valve goes to the third nippo on the bottom of the carb from left. And the top nippo on the purge valve connect to one a bit left from the idle screw at a slightly higher location. I would suggest you to download a copy of the tutorial, the link can be searched on this forum.

I am not a mechenic and learned everything on this wonderful forum too, hope this helps. Oh, by searching for "crank case venting" you can find a whole lot of good response.

Well, when I first removed my rat's nest, I capped eveything, left the oil filler tube, dizzy, and fuel bowl vent open, it ran great just like that, perhap you can try this to pin out where is giving you the trouble.

the place I had constant problems was where the ACV was... Thats until I got the sexy Block off plate from Racingbeat but the only problem is there is only 2 bolts holding it on. Besides that if you are having a vacuum leak you should be able to see where the problem is looking with a trouble light at the base of the carb

This is one of the biggest reasons people that do the rats nets removal have hard start problems. Even the block of plate can give problems if not tightened down evenlly.

ya I know, I got extremely pissed off at it though because I broke off 2 bolts in the intake manifold trying to tighten it.... The first time I took the whole intake off and used a easyout to get it out as much as possible then when I put in a new one it snapped again... Words cannot express the anger I was feeling...

everything seems to be fine except my idle is at about 400-500 and wants to die how do i bring my idle up???

and when i go to warm up my car with the choke it is really really bad sounding like it is mis firing and either giving to much fuel or not enough.???? any thoughts??? also when i push the choke back in the rpm's go down and then my ar cuts off....?

There is a solenoid (spell?) at the center of the carb on the driver side, the big openning to its left is the fuel bowl vent. The T is right at the bottom of purge valve, the big opening too, so one end goes to this vent and the other goes to the oil filler tube.
