Quick Question about an 85 GSL

I found a 1985 RX7 GSL forsale and I am wondering what came standard on a GSL(carbed? lsd?)?? Also it has like 160xxx miles on it, it seems like a whole lot of mileage, but input on what to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

All U.S. 12A engines were carb, all were about 100HP.The 160HP 12AT turbo engine was EFI but we never got it.

The GSL is the top of the line 12A car.It came with just about everything standard except power steering and I think leather. They will all have rear disc brakes and LSD,unless its been removed. Power windows, mirrors,AC,cruise control and sunroof are standard.Too bad more horsepower wasnt standard, to offset the weight.....thats what the GSL-SE was all about in 84-85.

160K miles is standard for the age. There are cars with more and some with a lot less, but 130-175K is right about normal.

Awesome thank you. I would like to do a compression test on the motor, around what psi would a motor need a rebuild? also are there any places that I should look for rust?

Should I be worried about the compression on a motor with that many miles?

Not neccesarily.
Its not uncommon for 1st gen engines to go WELL over 200K and still have good compression. So long as the oil is changed regularly, the oilmetering system stays working and its NEVER overheated,a naturally aspirated rotary can run damn near forever. Our engines are pretty low compression by desing, which means less stress. And, the rotors and seals only spin at 1/3 the speed of the crank,so they are very long wearing, compared to a piston that runs the length of its bore twice for every rotation of the crank.
