question about intake gaskets

I obviously have a bad intake gasket, my question is. Am I hurting anything by waiting untill I get a new intake/carb setup to replace it?

pineappleracing.com has freeze plugs. Use thos instead of the damn O rings. Get a few extra to so when I need them for my next rebuild I can just get them from you. LOL

yea Ill check into those, if I get them Ill buy some extras. I tried to get my intake off, there are allen like screws that I could not get to budge.

But will a slight leak on startup and highend hurt things for a little while?

what kind of intake do you have i dont remeber any of the 12A 's that have allen head bolt unless you have a racingbeat 2 peice weber intake. there are 6 nuts that hold the intake mani on and they are going to be paralle to the ground.

i would try and take care of this as quick as you can but if you cant make sure that the coolant and water levels arent low!

Its a stock intake, but yea there are 4 bolts on the outside of the intake, and 2 allens on the inner part of the intake, near where the blockoff plate is. This is a multiowner car so who knows what is up.

Dude the allens are in the intake. As far as removing the intake there are two bolts on each outter end of the intake and there are 2 studs that stick out of the engine block up under(way under) the carb heat shield. So when you get all nuts/bolts off you'll have 4 bolts and 2 nuts and the intake will slide right off. Don't remove the allens, lol. Don't feel bad though I've done some dumber things than that, haven't I guys?...but I'm not allowed to disclose that information
