Project TII

I started my proyect a couple of years ago and I am almost finishing it. Take a look and hope you like. Is an 85 GSL with a convertion GSL-SE suspenssion, re-built street port 89' TII JDM engine and tranny, Wolf 3D ver4, Walboro fuel pump, Aeromotive FPR and a Greggy BOV. I still have to do body and paint, exhaust, a bad starter and clutch slave cylinder.

Looks good but why are you wasting your time with the top mount? All it's going to do is heat soak.

I was wondering the same thing about the top mount. Other than that though it is amazingly clean, and I can't wait until I have the same swap in my FB. I hope you get it running soon.

No, it's a stock TII top mount with the air ducting stripped off. I have 1 of each in the shop.

TII is the second iteration of a turbo rotary, 2nd gens. The REW is a twin turbo, 3rd gens.

Of you add the scoop, you should have left the shell on the top mount. Other than that, nice job on the install.

Why don't move the top mount to the front?

It's on my do list, but I cant spend any more money for the rest of the year. I will be a dad next month. But in the other hand, I do have a front mount cooler from a Starion that I was planning to install.

Congrat on the pending rotorhead.

Save you money for a decent fmoc. It will be worth it in the long run.

Ok then. How about 3" exhaust to a Borla xr-1 in the middle and a stock 12a Muffler.

How hard was it to get the tranny to work and mount properly? Does it sit in the stock position? Did you go with a custom driveshaft?

3" all the way back. The stock muffler will kill any benifit the 3" gives. A good ss muffler, with ss packing will get the job done. The Borla sounds very nice on a TII.

Stainless steel. They last longer, take the heat better. Packing also should be stainless steel or ceramic wool. There are many out there that will fit the requirements, style is your choice. I'm running 2 Magnaflows that I bought off eBay, one mid, one tail. I certainly hope that when it's turboed, it quiets down some. lol
