Project Kramer Dyno - 370 RWHP!!

Well,

We had a really nice time on Saturday with the
MRCCFL crew.

We had a Dyno Event, a BBQ, and a tour oss the SpeedSource shop which is building competitive RX-8's for Daytona!

I have a REALLY Good Video of my Car doing the Dyno runs, but I don't have a host that can support many users & high bandwidth.

Anyway - I did Three pulls.

1) Stock Wastegate Spring at 9 PSI = 270 RWHP
2) Boost set to 12 PSI (What I normally use) = 315 RWHP

It got a little lean at the top, so we decided to re-jet it for the higher boost runs for safety.

Then:

3) Boost set to 17 PSI = 370 RWHP.

All Done on a Holley Blow-Through system, on regular pump gas.

Here is the Dyno sheet with all three runs:

My tuner believes on C-16 (Race Gas) I could easily go to 23 PSI safely which should produce about 460 RWHP.

I think I'll try that combination at the track for the hell of it

So, who's going to host the VIDEO's?

I have:

Wow, can't wait to see everything after you get the race gas. That is amazing. Good luck with all of that.

    Thumbs up

    DF that's awesome.

Must have a great turbo/compressor to do that much.

Wonder if you still want to go Haltec after all that? Seems like you have something working real good.

Just imagine what power you'll make once you get around to putting the haltech on there again!

Either way, 370RWHP is pretty goddamn good, no wonder why u smoked that rx-8!

The Haltech will give more drivability, and fuel efficiency. But it will not increase HP by than 5-10% in total.

An RX-8 with an exhaust system Dyno'd yesterday too.
    180ish to the wheels.

You need the DIVX Decoder Codec from Media Player.

The problem with dynoing an RX-8 is that the computer senses front wheels aren't moving and puts the engine into "limp mode". I don't know if anyone has figured out how to bypass this little problem.

**** DF, I just wanted 350 RWHP on my project... Ya think I could pull that off with a blow through setup also? I was JUST thinking last night about going blowthrough for "simplicity" to start with (like ioTus), maybe using a DCO carb though, then later when I can afford it switching it out for an EFI throttle body. I would still run a stage 2 turbo and stuff, but do you think I could pull off 350 with a blow through stock port 13BT and modded turbo?

    ~T.J.

EDIT: Heres what the site says about the turbo I plan on getting:
Stage 2 Mega Hi Flow S4/5:

.50 Comp cover and back plate fitted
    V trim front wheel
    T04 exhaust wheel
    Full recondition

These units are the ultimate in bolt on horse power , they feature a T04 exhaust wheel/shaft , a T66 front cover , E-trim wheel and larger integral waste gate. Good for 240 + rwkw, they bolt on to the existing exhaust manifold and are good for low 11's to hi 10's in a well set up early Mazda.

They have, it still goes into limp mode, but not until you get the runs in.

Great video, nice server too, 260k/sec average.

Mine's only making about 225-250rwhp now, can't wait until I put on the weber, T04B, and the intercooler. Oh yeah, the new dowel pinned and streetported 12a might help too Hopefully I'll be able to put down a bit more power then.
