Not sure which trim size i'm going with, but a few months ago HKS developed their own version of that supercharger because they said it was lacking in a few departments and still claim the same about of efficiency. So I guess its a good thing I'm putting it back a bit to see what the outcome of both will be. The rotrex has become increasingly popular since i first explored it. Many kits available for all kinds of high and low end car. Its size and efficiency is making it very popular, as you can fit it in almost any engine bay.

However I believe that the 2 speed transmission is still only available for the rotrex at the moment. But I bet if that boost its figures up in sales, HKS might start making it.

My horsepower goal with the SC would be around 250-300HP That should be more than plenty full for me. I'm definatly not shooting for the most HP out there but I like to have fun here and there. depending on the trim level that are available, I might push out the boost a bit to jump me a little higher than 300HP just for the track days

i like the fact that it is on a planetary drive and it uses a tubo impeller at turbo speeds due to the drive. by far i beleive that Rotex is the best super charger out there even more for the centrifical charger. i had no idea that HKS had developed one them self i ll check that out.

Ya i was reading about it in a magazine (don't recall which one) but I believe they called it the HKS GT supercharger. The rollers were made a little diferent according to the diagrams supplied. When I hit chapters again, I'll try to find out the magazine its in, I'm sure they would have an online link to it.But from looking how closely HKS and Rotrex have been working, I don't see why they wouldn't just combine heads and do the ultimate version.

HKS has both ... as in they use the straight rotrex charger, but they also have an "upgraded" style which is their inhouse built charger supposebly.

Holy **** Sam, good job!

You really didn't waste any time on it. PM me your contact info, next time I'm near London I'm definitely going to have to look you up.

You guys in London are forkin' crazy. Must be something in the water, but this car is to N/A FBs what Aaron Cake's car is to FCs!

lol @ jon ...

I don't think its the water, must probably be the boring town we're in. Need more to excite us so we do up our cars . But thats a huge compliment comparing me to Aaron ... I know i'm really not, thats why I need him to come help my out with my Megasquirt software stuff.

But ya bit by bit she's getting there. BTW ... never knew how big of a hassle the carpet would be I though they atleast cut the holes on the transmission tunnel, but no you have to do everything yourself. PITA. I was hoping to have it all in today, but got distracted by one of my buddies that stopped by to do an audio system. I need to stop all these distractions.

I was looking at where I want to mount my computer and might not work if I wish to keep the blower attached to the heater core to heat me up. But what I'm thinking is if I gut the AC unit that goes inside the car, and jam the computer in there, now how sweet would that be! like this the blower would keep the computer cool (just turn it up on fan speed 1 or something) but even when the heater is on, the air blowing through it would still be cold because its ducked before it) I'm going to see if I can make that work tomorrow. If it does I'll have a big grin on my face How would that be for a computer case now lol.

Haha, guess that would work fine for the computer. I made a kick-plate for mine and located it near where the pasengers feet go. You can see a little of its outline through the carpet but not too bad.

Well I definatly think that i've just outdone myself today . That computer fits in that box just perfectly. All i need to do is cutout access holes for the I/O connections.I will probably drill a couple small holes in the bottom to prevent any water build up. And all I have to do is drill the 4 holes to secure the motherboard to the casing. I definatly deserve a pat on the back for that one I thought ... anyhow, here's the pictures.

Video should be going when we're about to first start it. I did manage to hook up the battery yesterday, and turned the ignition on and it cranked without electrical fires, so thats always good to see .

let hope that I don't forget to fill up the empty gas tank lol.

Man these steering racks are popular. Even I'm saving up for one

I think they might turn into the kind of "must-have" that the RB Exhaust has become. Either you've got one, or you don't, there's no in between.

Awesome job on the carputer! I've always been a fan of case modding and small form factor boards, so this is one of the coolest ones I've seen. Does every S3 have that AC thingy, or just the ones that actually *had* AC? Because I know mine didn't have AC, but it had the switch for it and the throttle opener on the carb, so I figure that for some bits and pieces Mazda just left them in there regardless.

Not sure about the AC question .... easy way of knowing is jsut look under your passenger side dash.

Aaron just left the house, we were semi successful. We know all the sensors work fine and stuff, fuel pump pressure has been adjusted to 35 psi, filled up with fuel, had a little leak at the filter cause I apperently forgot to tighten it. Thats the good news.

The bad news is we couldn't start it. We're having a problem with it registying rpms through the cas. It shows it for a split second if when the MS is reset, then goes away. So he had to take it in and try it out on the stimulator.

More to come later

Yep...I have the 'Squirt at my place and am currently tracking down my Stimulator. Once I can sit down with the thing and stimulate in private, I'm sure we'll have a clear picture of what the issue is.

So squirt, how's your car comin'?

HAHAHA the car isn't running and I froze my *** off for nothing, nothing I tell you. However they did figure out that the sensors are working, and it's either a computer or wiring problem. So that's one step closer to firing. Aaron, how bout those -AN fittings??
I just stood there watching while Sam and Aaron fiddled with things.. Electronics are beyond my scope of understanding

LOL Jon!!!!

Hmm a few things to check.. you have probably already checked though..
- Multimeter between MS's 12v and ground feed make sure this doesn't drop too much when cranking - could if your starter wiring has excessive friction or a bad connection
- CAS wiring is shielded and grounded only at the MS end

Good luck and keep us updated!!!

Paul.

Yea I agree, the steering racks will be the next RB exhaust for sure!

As for the A/C, if your car didn't come with it originally you will just have a flexible piece of ducting between the blower fan and the heater core. For whatever reason all the cars have the A/C button regardless....
