Progress on my car. WIth pics :D

At the pace you're going ... looks like I'll be there first :P My shell will be out of the paint booth on November the 1st or 2nd, after that its going straight to my buddies shop so that I can do the engine, and all the driveterrain swap there. Its easier when you can put both shell up in the air at the same time, and I'm hoping to get a crew of about 4 people to help me out put everything from one shell to the other to get it done as quick as possible. You're my motive now

We'll see... I'm in no rush so you might be first. But my thread hasn't been updated in a while. the body is complete assembled, as well as most of the interior, so now its all front suspension, steering, brakes and fine tuning the engine.... I'll have to post some pics to make you jealous Plus don't forget I did everything on mine with my own two hands, other than a little bit of advice from a few people here and there I did it all, so with all those helpers you'd better be done first

Lol... Ya I still have to assemble the whole inside, and I have to play around with the MS to get it up and running The only thing that I haven't done by myself so far is the actualy paint, I did most of the body shell prep as Scott's back wasn't the greatest. He just mostly showed me how its done. As for the helpers, It might be me, my buddy that owns the shop, Immanuel (Martin), and Orion84gsl (Chris).
Making use of my forum members lol.

Make sure you let me know when your ready to do the assembly, I'll try to schedule work around it, that way I'm useful for a decent amount of time. Now I can help you with your car, instead of the other way around.

Thanks,
A few more updates from today:
1) Trying to find supplier that has the Damplifier sound proofing from second skin, but everyone just seems to carry Damplifier Pro and I might just be suckered to pay the price for it because I need this as soons as possible.
2) I've Started my skeleton battery case, for the battery relocation.
3) Still missing a couple of capacitors for finishing the MS to finish putting in there the LM1815.
4) If the rain stops early, I'll be down under the car with the hack saw to cut off my header from the whole welded back. Makes me wish I hadn't done it like so. Oh well you learn from your mistakes. But once thats out, I have to drill the holes for the egt probes, and also I need to wrap the header still. I love the look of a wrapped header .. just gives it a mean edge, but abviously I don't do it for the looks only,
5) Clean up the garage so that I can maybe fit the car in there lol. Anyone that has a single car garage knows what I'm talking about.
Also I did finish the fuel system, just waiting on my Billet Specialties hose seperators:
I'll post up more pictures once they're in.

Things can add up quickly depending mostly on the stand alone you get, they start from 250$ for the Megasquirt which you have to solder all the components on yourself and modify, to who knows how much for the latest haltech and stuff. You also need to add sensors to work with the standalone, Wideband for better tuning, EGT to get the ultimate tuning when you pair them together. And lastly if you can do everything yourself or if you have to hire someone to set it up. And not to mention tuning, to really get the most you need one of the better tuners to do so. YOu can loose HP if not tuned porperly and it has been seen time over time.
Not trying to scare you just trying to warn you whats all about to come.

Not to worried about price, just the complexity of the stand alone. What type/brand of sensors are you using, if you dont mind me asking. Also are there any drawbacks to using the microsquirt other than the price, and what sensors exactly do i need to run to the ecu. So far i got Pyrometer, air intake temp, coolant temp, wideband, tps, and map.

I'm using the GM sensors as thats what the MS is made to work with, but really you can make any sensor work. DIYautotune.com sell those sensor as well as the MS. The only 2 sensors really would be the intake air temp sensor, and the coolant sensor, which you already have anyways. Also the kit already come with a 2.5 Map sensor. That is more than enough for any NA, they also sell 4 bar if you want to get above 20 ish PSI if you go boosted later on.

Well looks like today is being a productful day after all. I cut off my headers to start recleaning them before wrapping them with the Wrap. Also Should be drilling in the holes for the EGT probes in there hopefully today.
And If anyone cares to know, my headers weight 8lb. I was curious myself so just to let you all know what they weight.

With me knowing how much work you have left on your car, I think i'll beat you to it.
My shell should of had the paint coat on there today, Joe must of been busy and couldn't post up the pictures, but tomorrow should be clear coat time, and thursday should be block sanding, and even buffing the paint. The shell should be up for pick up on Friday. That is one thing that I can't wait to see

Sounds like your getting there. I fired up the T2 for the first time in about 5 months last night, still have some bugs to work out, but its getting there. Something tells me you'll be done before me though, I still have a few bigger ticket items that need to be bought, and I'm not sure when the money will be here....

Theres always something you'll forget or something you won't see coming, so expect that. This is my second total rebuild, and a much more ambitious one than the first, so its taking a while and getting costly fast.... That said the first time I hit boost It'll all be worth it

Here she is! I stopped on its way from the booth to the frame shop for some glamour shots outside.
Sam, the before pics of it entering the booth got deleted from the camera! My dad pulled some other photos off the camera to send to an insurance company and its setup to delete the pics after taking them off. I never told him I had important stuff on there though, so technically its my bad.
Anyways - here's the pics of it outside. Car turned out quite exceptional, I have to buff a few little things here and there since I'm picky, but all in all - very nice.
I'll post back either later on today or tomorrow with some pics of the associated parts in their new green suits
Enjoy!
