Here's a video from the engine bay ... the throttle issue was actually fixed, as seen in the first video posted, by just replugging the coolant temp sensor, I had to take it off because its not setup properly for cold start yet, and like this it makes it run.

Thanks bud, ya but my wiring mess is just temporary, it'll be all cleaned up by the weekend. Its all the Carputer wiring. All the MS wiring is neatly done up, and is sitting where the stock Emmision control box sits, under the passenger's seats.

I get looks of frustration, so far only one person knew it was an rx-7, everyone keeps on telling me its an old school Ferrari

Well after driving the car for about a week and a half now, i think that I can post a review of the rack and pinion feel. The first thing you'll notice is how much more direct it feels, I still have a bit of body roll so doesn't turn in right away like I want it too but that'll get solved once I stick my triangulated strut bar in there. The quick ratio feel is pretty good in the city and on the highway, makes parking the car easier. If i were to compare it to something else that I've driven I'd say the Acura RSX type-s. Thats the kind of feeling you kinda get (minus the extra body roll on the initial turn in). Props to Billy from Respeed for the kit, I'll sure be getting more parts from him as he makes some more.

Well i just wanted to report back on some fuel consumption. This is where i'm really loving my MS, just lean when you're cruising around , I've been doing some driving around on the highway and city, and at AFR of about 15.5:1 or so, I've been getting nearly 30mpg and if just Highway the highest that I've seen it go was 33mpg, for a large street ported engine I would say thats pretty darn good . But if I switch over to my highperformace map, and have fun with my right foot, then we're seeing closer to about 10mpgs. Ahh the world of standalone. Who would of thought. I know the first time that I got my 30mpg, I thought there was something wrong with the gas pump detecting too soon lol, but then 3 other pumps proved me wrong.

wow. 30 mpg? Thats amazing. Great work. Now you just need to be able to have the computer know when you want the extra prower so that you get perfect gas milage on your rx. Once again great work

Sam,

Sounds great. Make sure you used the right conversion from liters, though.

3.78 liter/U.S. gallon

Since there is also the Imperial gallon...we don't use that one.

Glad to hear that it is running so nice.

Kent

Sounds like things are going good for you, I'm a bit skeptical of 30mpg, but either way it sounds like you have it dialed in nicely!

The calculation looks correct. I didn't double check the exact value, but 7.5l is real close to 2 gallons. 100km is like 62 miles..so roughly that is 31 MPG

I went and bought a webcam yesterday for my car, so we'll see how that works out. I wanted to atleast have something for my race on sunday. If I don't like the way it acts ... well atleast I can always return it. I'll post back once I have some footage.

Thats alright Chris. As a few more updates, I slapped my new rubber on there (Falken 912) and definatly noticed a difference under braking so far. Before I could easily lock up all the tires, now I think that I have more tire than braking power. We'll see how that changes when I get the Hawk HP+ in there though. Should be a good brake/traction balance like that. I can definatly feel that stiffer sidewall also with sharper turn ins. We'll see how that clutch will do (Carbon Kevlar compound, full face sprung) also. From there its race time

Well I have some bad news about my engine ... rear rotor is gone. Thanks to the Venom Injectors. When i flow tested them after the fact, one flowed 620cc and the other 820 cc. Running too lean on one side and detonated .. engine is being rebuilt as we speak to same things Street Port, I could of gone bigger, but I was happy with what I had. I could still get decent mileage and was a blast to drive.
