hook the belt up.

Hook the power steering pump up.

The hose on the very top left of the engine bay. un connect it and put it in a bucket.

Run the power steering pump with the unconnected hose leading to the bucket , and flush out all the fluid (no leaking).

take off the 4 bolts and pull it out.

You will need to loop the lines to keep out contaminants.

I was just wondering, how much could that power steering stuff possilbly weigh, It can't be that much and if you hook it up and it works then why get rid of it. Just my $0.02.

The cast iron mountin bracket, for the ac and ps weighs as much as the pump. One might save 15 pounds. I'm the odd one, I added ps, but then I have rather large front tires and and don't care to do the strong arm steering when playing. I grew up with strong arm steering, I think I have earned the right to have a little convienence in my life.

I can do without the ac and stereo, but ps with 225/50/15s is more of a must have, not a luxury.

I took the power steering of my '84 and I regretted it. I'm not weak in the arms but you will miss the assist. It's not worth it.
